Factory Workers health and wellbeing



Garment factory workers are susceptible to ill health, owing to their family condition, lack of awareness and workplace conditions. This project aims to improve physical and mental health and wellbeing of garment factory workers through a systematic approach by undertaking activities such as screening for diabetes, hypertension, anemia and vision, referrals to affordable healthcare facilities, provision of spectacles, teleconsultations, counselling session and strengthening of factory systems to ensures improved health. This project covered around 15,428 factory workers in the past financial year. The locations covered were Tirupur, Jaipur and Bangalore.



Community health and wellbeing



Communities that are staying next to the regional distribution centers come from less privileged section where access is a concern. They are more vulnerable to health issues. This project aims to systematically improve health and wellbeing of communities staying near the regional distribution centers at Bangalore (Hoskote) and Kolkata (Howrah). The beneficiaries will be screened for NCD conditions, followed up on their health conditions and referred to nearest health center for treatment, thus improving their health conditions. Around 15,000 people are expected to be covered in the program.



Past Initiatives :


The program focuses on creating awareness about Non Communicable Diseases (NCD) among Slum Community Members and Manufacturing Industry Workers by conducting free NCD Screening in their community / factories. Screening involves tests for Anemia, Hypertension, Diabetes, Cardio Vascular Disease (CVD) & Dyslipidemia along with enhanced diagnostics for Diabetes & CVD.

Post enhanced diagnostics, the ‘At Risk’ individuals are counselled and made to interact with expert doctors through Tele-Consultation.

The program is implemented in Bengaluru, Coimbatore, Delhi NCR, Vijayawada, Kolkata and Pune.

13,65,571 individuals have availed the benefits so far since 2015.




On World Diabetes Day, every year in November, free Random Blood Sugar (RBS) Testing Kiosks are put up for our customers across several outlets. Interested customers can avail the facility for checking their RBS and get informed through the brochures made available.

Since 2010, the Beat Diabetes campaign in India has reached out to 4,37,976 individuals through testing and awareness kiosks set up at Landmark Group stores.




The program aims at building the capacity of women slum dwellers to manage and prevent NCD among their family and community. Capacity building Social Health Education sessions are held for these women in their neighborhood on various topics. Audio Visual content is provided in the respective regional colloquial language; to make the subject simplistic and interesting.

Trained Community Health Workers conduct regular sessions by integrating various Group work techniques that ensure internalization of data. Pre and post session feedback is obtained from beneficiaries to understand the knowledge retention.

Once the training is complete; the beneficiaries are certified as ‘Health Champions’.

32,020 women across Bengaluru, Coimbatore, Vijayawada, Pune, Kolkata and Delhi NCR slums have completed the training since 2015.




Amba Arogyam



The project aims to provide access to preventive healthcare and support to those working in the unorganized sector. Landmark Group supported Rotary Club of Ambattur at Chennai to provide master health check-up and free medical aid and consultation for up to 12 months. The project benefited over 350 people.
